Albuquerque West Stake Young Women Camp

June 3 - 7, 2003

 

The Taylor Ranch Ward gathered for a group photo after our hike.

We had flag ceremonies twice a day:

 

A few YW fold the flag. Emma presents a patriotic thought.

 

We made flavored lip balm and bee pins for our crafts:

 

Sister Edwards helps Danielle make her lip balm. Sister Boren gets the lip balm stuff ready for the Corrales Ward YW. Sloane stirs the flavoring into the balm mixture. The Second Level YW went canoeing:

 

Steve Pauling instructs the YW on canoeing. He shows the girls how to rescue a "swamped" canoe. Karen, Emma, Hailey, Ashley, Lauren, and Ashlee (kneeling) get ready to canoe.

 

The Fourth Level YW and leaders get ready to leave for their overnighter:

 

Aubin, Emily, Chelsie, another YW, and Mandy get ready to leave for their overnighter. Bishop Lewis and Jill Cheshire help send the girls off for their overnighter (NOTE: The YW went rappelling).

 

Karaoke Night:

 

Sister Nutt and Sister Schauerhamer sang "YMCA" to get Karaoke Night going. The Corrales and Panorama Heights YW sing a song together. "Summer loving...Had me a blast..." It's Paradise Hills' turn. Rivers Edge adds some dance moves to their song.

Some of the YW sleep in a covered wagon. Inside a covered wagon. The Taylor Ranch Ward slept in the hogans. The Hogans had 6-8 bunks each. A group of Adirondacks.Each group of tents, hogans, adirondacks, and covered wagons had their own unit shelter.
