Santa Fe Rally for Schools
February 9, 2006
|
My small group of community members, in conjunction with Governor Richardson's office, organized a rally during the legislative session to call attention to overcrowding in New Mexico Schools. A lobbyist bought t-shirts for everyone. Brent was asked to bring his sign and stand in the front row. We ended up getting $90 million of a state surplus for schools (as opposed to the $290 million we needed). Our state senators are the ones who lowered the amount. A link to the news story about our setback can be found here. |
