How's Brent Doing This Week In Track?
April 15, 2006

Coach Lott and Coach Henry look on as Brent (sophomore at Cibola) runs .87 of a second behind last year's state champ Jerrell Miller (a senior from Highland shown winning). It is Brent's first and only individual 200 meter race so far this year. He'll probably run it again this weekend. |

Ortiz, Eldorado 23.13 (5A) |
After running the 200 in one meet, Brent is currently 5th in ABQ's 5A (Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, etc.).
He has cut 4/10ths of a second off his 200 since last year.
He needs to cut 13/100ths of a second more to guarantee a spot at state (22.50 seconds to qualify).
The top two in each district also qualify for state; which means he qualifies as of now. We'll see how the next few weeks go.
Brent came in first in the long jump at his last meet. He also helped his relay team come in first (4x2).
This is how the 2006 state rankings look so far...
