Brent Gets Back on Track
March 10, 2007

Brent and Mycah prepare for the long jump.
| Brent competed in his first meet of the season. He came in third (out of the 7 schools) in the long jump. He jumped: 19' 5 1/2 ". His friend Daniel Gooris moved to Albuquerque from Gallup at the beginning of the year. Daniel currently ranks 2nd in the nation amongst his age group in pole vaulting; 16th in the nation overall (His personal best is 16'...Click here to see where Daniel stands.) He is also a decathlete and does well in lots of events. Brent ran the anchor leg in two relays, which both came in first place (the 800 and 1600 relays). Jon Mader (1st meet back) got 1st in the javelin. Mycah Huitron helped Cibola win the 1600 meter medley relay. Brandon Simpson took 4th in the high jump and placed in the triple jump. This was also Mycah and Brandon's first meet back after basketball. These guys are all juniors this year. It was so nice to actually beat La Cueva and Rio Rancho in track :-) |
