Cheryl's Old Neighborhood

 

Cheryl persuaded the kids to check out where she lived from the ages of 5-12. The name of the city is La Puente. We lived one block away from the very first IN-N-OUT Burger which was established in 1948 (actually in Baldwin Park which was behind our house off of Francisquito Ave.). It looks like they rebuilt it. Here are some pictures from our  little side trip.

We lived a block away from the first IN-N-OUT Burger (which was rebuilt).

We lived at 14021 E. Whitesell St.

Our house used to be white and blue as I recall and did not have stone.

My best friend Jeanne's house was just down the street.

We walked up through here MANY times to buy candy at the liquor store.

A few of our classmates lived in these apartments.

My elementary school, Flanner, is now an adult school.

My middle school: Torch Junior High is now a magnet school.

We spent MANY evenings at the Vineland Drive-In Theater.
