Wendy’s Banana Cream Pie

 

·         2/3 cup sugar

·         1/4 cup cornstarch

·         1/2 tsp. salt

·         3 cups milk  (I usually use 1/2 evaporated milk & 1/2 water)

·         4 egg yolks

·         2 T.  margarine or butter

·         1 T. plus 1 tsp. vanilla

·         3 large bananas

·         Whipped cream or Cool Whip

·         Baked pie crust
 

Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt in saucepan. Stir in milk and egg yolks and cook until thick. Continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil. Boil 1 min.

Remove from heat. Stir in margarine and vanilla.  Cool to room temperature.

When filling has cooled, layer bananas and filling in a baked pie crust. Cover filling with another layer of sliced bananas.

 

Top with whipped cream when ready to serve.
