Christmas 1973
| Tho' Christmas comes just once a year It's hard to believe that it's here. But with Thanksgiving over, And frost on the clover It's arrival is eminently clear. It seems it was just yesterday That we mailed our last letter away, But the year that has past, Now referred to as "last" Has provided a great deal to say. MATTHEW now draws more attention Than we really care to mention. He is very cute And lovable "to boot." He surely relieves lot's of tension. He's developed very keen ears. He remembers most all that he hears. Especially a tune, Which he sings night and noon. Not bad for a boy of two years. For Christmas he wants "G-Ji-Joe" And Santa will sure make it so. He'll have lots of fun Before Yuletide is done. It's the first he'll remember, you know. MATT is his mother's own son. On errands he's usually the one Who says "Don't go home." He sure likes to roam. Shopping's his number one fun. When school started this year, JACKIE really let out a cheer. A whole half-a-day, With SCOTTY away. A respite without any peer. Now that Ol' SCOTTIE is five He continues to be more alive Than most other boys With accompanying noise. He keeps our home more like a hive. SCOTT'S favorite pastime is science. And here he shows his defiance. He's constantly brewing, A mixing, and stewing. And to rules he shows no compliance. He likes to play office and such. He keeps himself always in "dutch." Nothing's sacred to him. He's always on a limb. For most, he is really "Too much." With football, baseball, and track, BRAD never suffers from lack Of something to do. He never gets through. 'Specially when it's time for the "sack." As president of his class at school, He's attempting to live by the rule. It's still pretty hard, Unless he's on his guard. He continues to be "very cool." Last spring, BRAD had a great thrill. He really was "king of the hill." In track he was great. The best in the state. Shows what he can do if he will. Three of his ribbons were blue The red ones--an additional two. That's right, five in all. A pretty fair haul. Altogether he's won quite a few. In school GREG is top of the heap, And his interests continue quite deep. Piano and choir, Many irons in the fire. He still can't find 'nuff time to sleep. For piano he's up before dawn. Our's is the only light on. Then he buses to school. Practices late as a rule. A truly full day for GREG JOHN. GREG started Boy Scouts this fall. To the program, he's giving his all. With projects, and skills, And hikes in the hills, He's finding the whole thing a ball. In sports GREG is also quite good. He'd be in all sports if he could. He has lots of heart And the fact that he's smart, Let's him win perhaps more than he should. JACKIE and JOHN continue the pace. Life for them is always a race. Active in Church and in town. No time to sit down. But happy to be in their place. JACKIE is "Pres", P-T-A Has no time to "fritter" away. Twixt Church and the school, She's away as a rule. And she bowls on every Monday. JOHN'S world is Church and profession. And if we could get a confession, He'd probably say To him it's all play. He never misses a session. We JORGENSENS feel very good. We're blessed perhaps more than we should Our prayer is that you Might be that way too. We certainly would share if we could. The world is so very small On the telephone we can call The whole USA Only seconds away So we really feel close to "you all." Keep us in mind as you pray. And let's look ahead to the day. When these many miles Won't dim out our smiles. We hope you'll be coming our way. May this letter find you at your best And your family and all of the rest, Of those that we love. May Our Father above Continue to support in your quest. For Christmas and the New dawning Year, Which very shortly is here, Seasons greetings to you The whole next year thru. Hold close to those things we hold dear. |
