Abbie Lorine Lee Jorgensen, 93, passed away December 30, 2004 at her home in Sandy, Utah.

Abbie was born May 29, 1911 in Tooele, Utah. She was the 2nd of 13 children born to John LeRoy and Emma Huffaker Lee.  She grew up in Tooele and graduated from Tooele High School.

She married H.M. Jorgensen in 1929 (later divorced). She worked at Auerbach's department store for 33 years.  After retiring, she divided her time living with family in Las Vegas and Moberly, Missouri and traveling through Europe and the U.S.  In 1995 she moved to Sandy, Utah where she enjoyed the friendship of many at Alta View Estates.

Abbie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and faithfully served in many callings.

She is survived by:

  • 2 sisters: Lillian Hadlock and Phoebe Myler;
  • 4 children:
    • Lee Jorgensen of Salt Lake City;
    • John (and daughter-in-law Jackie) Jorgensen of Moberly, Missouri;
    • Diane Heath of Sandy, UT and
    • Karen Ravelo of Las Vegas, NV;
  • 19 grandchildren,
  • 56 great-grandchildren and
  • 1 great-great granddaughter!

"Grandma J" will be lovingly remembered for her many songs and lullabies and especially for her special bedtime "secret" whispered to 4 generations of children.

Funeral services will be held Fri. Jan. 7, 2005 at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 E. 10600 S. at 12:00 p.m. Viewing will be from 10:00-11:30.  Interment in Tooele City Cemetery.
